I usually help my students learn only 1 song at each Level. They have to learn the next song on their own so that they become independent and learn how to implement the knowledge and techniques I have taught them to learn as many songs as they desire. If the student bumps into some obstacles and problems, they can obviously consult with me and I guide them, however, I do not spoon-feed them the answers, I point them in the direction and help them figure things out.
And I did the same with Sarayu. I asked her to pick out whichever song she wanted. I am proud to say I did not teach her a single chord, or a single strumming pattern for this song. I only helped her count one tiny part while writing down the structure of the song. That's it.
And behold, the amazing strumming patterns, the beautiful singing, and the full song, as is. Not a lame-ass half-cover or a mashup.
